Con-Force Structures Selects SAP Partner Solution to Gain Efficiencies, Enable Growth and Streamline Key Business Functions

Calgary-based construction services and manufacturing company appoints et alia and Sylogist to implement comprehensive software solution

Milwaukee, Wis. – August 1, 2006 – Calgary-based Con-Force Structures Limited has selected CREW, a qualified mySAP™ All-in-One solution for the construction industry, to integrate and streamline business functions including financial management, job costing, project management and pre-cast concrete product manufacturing.

The CREW solution, developed by Milwaukee-based SAP Solution Partner et alia, llc., will be implemented for Con-Force by Calgary-based SAP Channel Partner Sylogist, Ltd. and et alia.

"We are excited by the choice of the CREW solution for Con-Force,” says Steve Robinson, Con-Force’s manager of information systems. “It is a proven and comprehensive solution that addresses all of our immediate needs, particularly our specific job-costing, and is scalable to grow with our company.”

For over 50 years, Con-Force has provided construction services for concrete bridges, parkades, architectural cladding, and other structures throughout Western Canada and the Northern United States.

Con-Force requires software systems that integrate components from two different industries – construction and manufacturing. The company builds its structures and manufactures the components necessary to complete its projects. While there are niche mid-market business solutions for both industries, Con-Force needed an all-inclusive solution with the ability to manage manufacturing processes and its construction projects. The company did not want separate software systems that require customized programs to link them together.

The CREW solution handles the organizational requirements necessary to track, identify, and report on the operations, administration, and profitability for projects. The system addresses the core operational needs of small and midsize construction companies while supplying them with the reporting tools necessary to gain key insights into their operations.

“We selected the CREW solution based on SAP software after a review of our current application, Navision, and alternatives. But none of them provided an ideal solution without numerous compromises,” says Robinson. “We expect that CREW, with its rapid and cost-effective implementation, will enable Con-Force to focus on business operations and growth well into the future.”

“As technology has improved, better solutions for our business have become available. Rather than continually evaluating new software for our company, we’ve decided to go with a qualified partner solution from SAP, a trusted and proven market leader,” adds Robinson.

The CREW implementation team from et alia and Sylogist brings many years of SAP software knowledge and practical construction industry experience to the Con-Force project.

“Con-Force has made a strategic decision to invest in a leading construction solution that leverages best practices and pre-defined templates to accelerate implementation,” says et alia’s president and founder, Brad Nicolaisen. “Using the mySAP All-in-One qualified partner solution CREW, Con-Force will profit from a world-class technology platform designed to support its business today while preparing the company for the future.”

Con-Force has emerged as an industry leader through innovative pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete solutions and exceptional customer service. It has grown 5% annually over the last eight years.

“CREW is a valuable solution for companies wanting to improve their position in today’s competitive construction industry and grow their business,” said Conrad Mandala, SAP Canada’s vice president, SME. “CREW has the ability to centralize project tracking and management, provide more accurate project estimates, ease entry of expenses and project status, and streamline administration of workforce qualifications, time, labor and performance.”
