Accelerator Training (For Teams)
The teams Accelerator Trainingis a5-day program designed to help you turn your insights into published Op-Eds that shape public debate, reach decision-makers, and elevate your influence. There are a few tiers in which we can be of service:
Tier 1: We give you all the tools you need to do these things yourself.
Tier 2: We work alongside you to capitalize off the toolsets provided in the training.
Tier 3: We handle all aspects of the process from insight assessment, generation, and packaging, to op-ed writing, editing, and eventual placement.
These are the pieces we will train you on and help you with:
1) Positioning for Prominence.
We will assess insight sources within the company in order to determine the most fruitful opportunities for executive thought leadership. This will entail conversations with policy and select communications associates to understand current policy focus, workstreams and plans.
2) Communications Clarity. With our issue focus in mind, we will compile a roster of individuals across the company who can author Op-Eds. We will identify the issues and leadership positions s/he is poised to communicate and ensure they are viable for top-tier media outlets. This living document will provide the strategic foundation for thought leadership messaging and planning.
3) Opportunity Mapping. We will map out predictable opportunities based on three categories:
a. Long-lead – partnership announcements, data or major report releases, scientific publications, high-level events, project milestones
b. Short-lead – previews of new policy announcements
c. Immediate – seismic news-media events
4) Demystifying Op-Eds. Op-Eds are an important part of thought leadership, and it is critical that the company’s by-line authors have a baseline understanding of how and why they function as tools for thought leadership. We will lead an interactive workshop with executive comms leads on mainstream opinion media engagement. Potential topics will cover the purpose and value of Op-Eds, the most influential outlets, their structure and content focus, how they engage with authors, how to use these channels to create thought leadership, and examples of successful pieces by industry thought leaders. This workshop will:
a) secure executive buy-in, and
b) make opinion media engagement more efficient, which will minimize the risk of missing opportunities for thought leadership.
5) Op-Ed development and placement. We will support your team by drafting, editing and placing Op-Eds in targeted media outlets.
